Tom Hanson is a versatile acoustic musician and songwriter from Rhode Island. His debut EP “Amphitheater” was released in December 2016 and is available on iTunes, Spotify and most other music platforms. “Amphitheater” explores a multitude of genres including folk, pop, rock and country over the span of its five distinct tracks. Above all, his music blends the lyrical and melodic stylings of James Taylor and Ed Sheeran. Blues legend, James Montgomery states “He’s one of the best acoustic players I’ve ever seen!”
Tom has had distinct pleasure of playing in the Xfinity Center Second Stage and VIP tent when headliners like Dave Matthews Band, Weezer, Nickelback, and Thirty Seconds to Mars, came to town. Despite being the only person on stage, Tom tends to sound more like a full band than a solo guitar player. He combines traditional guitar playing with loops, percussion and elements of fingerstyle guitar to create a truly electrifying live show for his audience. He is a guitarist and singer for The Sultans (Jerry Bennett Entertainment), a renowned wedding band company that plays weddings and private events all over the country. He has worked as a guitar soloist on several ships for Carnival Cruise Lines and has been named one of their “Top Performers”. He toured the across the Northeast in the Winter of 2018 promoting his EP.
He was recently named “Best College Act” at the 2018 Worcester Music Awards. Since 2014, he has held a Summer residency on Sunday nights at the Gas Lamp Grille in Newport, RI. Tom’s music is inspired by the lyrics and compositions of Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and Frank Turner. "
