Shadow By My Side

You must have been someone special 
to make me feel like I do when I’m around you
Months went by and the feeling grew 
Chillin’ on the beach with nothing to do but gaze at you
Cold hard days and long nights pass 
sitting here wondering how long it’s gonna last

Because I realize now I need to get off this ride 
I’m sick of all the twists and turns with no end in sight
I hope someday you’ll understand in time
I realize now, through day and night
I'm much better off with my shadow by my side

I never knew that goodbye meant 
Giving away the only thing that mattered
Within these wall I'm cold and damp 
The phone wont ring and home feels just like a trap

She says that it was a big mistake that left me feeling down

Because I realize now I need to stay on this ride
Cause when we kiss and when we touch you know I feel so alive
I hope this ride can pass the test of time
